Can your business partner’s previous tax problems at a previous business be a problem with the new business?
At his old business he didn’t pay his taxes for the last three years. If they were to find this out, do you think they would investigate my business if he’s a partner or would they only be concerned with his previous business.
For me to be successful, I would need his help in the business. Is this a risk I should take?

Of course his previous tax problems will become your problems…no doubt about it. If he’s run afoul of the IRS, he’s no doubt being tracked.
But, you have to ask yourself, how good is this guy. Is it worth it to take him on for his expertise to make money or try to do it without him.
Worse case scenario, the IRS will garnish his wages at your new company.
