why do the efile tax refund direct deposit dates keep changing?? Am I ever going to get my refund?
I efiled my tax return on jan 26…it was excepted by the irs on jan 27 and showed an estimated direct deposit date of jan 3rd, then the date got pushed back to feb 10th, now today date got pushed back to feb 17th…..whats going on? is it going to continue to be pushed back over and over again?

I filed mine on January 22 and accepted on Jan 23. According to the efile cycle chart i should get my direct deposit on feb 6 then i checked the site and it said the 10 now i check the site and it tells me i must of made a mistake with entering in my info. It is ridiculous this year. I am going to call them first thing tomorrow now since it is telling they cant find me. I called the 800 number and that one still says the 10th. I am at a lost.

The Where’s my refund? on the IRS website is having so technical difficulties so I would go by that you should by that you should receive your refund by this Friday February 6th as long as there are no errors on your tax return. IF there are you may get your refund pushed back.

Same thing here.
Filed on 1/20..supposed to be DD by Feb 3.
Figured we’d see the money on Jan 30…we dont so we call
and make sure all is ok, they say that its in the error dept and NO they
cant tell me why. We call several times trying to get an answer and they couldnt or wouldnt help us.
Now a minute ago, I check the irs site and it says 2/17…Are we to believe this? If you do research, this is happening to alot of folks.
Why is it so hard for the IRS to tell you why it was sent to the error dept?
Oh well. I doublechecked my return, which I filed thru Efile, and it looked ok. I have a simple return.
We’ll see. Id like to see if this is happening to others! So post away!
Thanks for letting me vent.

The same thing happened to us. I efiled, made sure that the economic stimulus amount was filled in properly in the software (not on the return), we were not eligible for the rebate recovery or whatever it was, no dependents, married filing jointly, simple return. According to the website, we were to get our refund on 2/10. Now the website and phone inquiry say 2/17. This is completely unacceptable. I lost my job and we’ve been barely hanging on by the skin of our teeth. It might be all fun and games for the IRS, but peoples’ lives can depend on getting these refunds in a timely manner. WTF is going on?
